What's with camelears?

A camel's ears are small, but its hearing is acute -- even if, like the donkey or basset hound, it chooses to pay no attention when given a command! A camel's ears are lined with fur to filter out sand and dust blowing into the ear canal.

I've been poring a quite a bit over both geeklog and gallery and learned a few things, I think.

I've found ways to control what the gallery part does, put the "camelears" logo on top of the pages, and created a "camelears theme" that should define the look of the site even after the software gets updated.

Also, I found a snippet of code that can put a picture from the gallery on the left side of the geeklog pages. In gallery, it's possible to select whether the picture is a random one from the whole site or the latest picture added, or the most popular picture (I can't imagine how that is determined!).

Feels like progress to me.

The gallery module is still installed, but I haven't figured out how to integrate it with this part. So, you'll have to link to it from here:
